There are devils in the world.

I’m watching season 2 ep18 “Yesterday” and having a lot of Grey family related feelings.

  • One of my absolute favourite (and yes it’s heartshattering but I love it regardless) is when Thatcher goes to answer the door, he sees Meredith and the expression on his face when he realises who she is. It just fucking gets me every single freaking time.
  • And when he asks if she needs anything? Gah. Also gets me every time.
  • I’ve always really really fucking hated how Thatcher never got a chance on the show. Ellis was by far the meanest and bitchiest person on the planet and yet Thatcher gets all the parental blame when Ellis was truly truly and unbelievably horrific to him.
  • One thing I’d love to see before Grey’s Anatomy ends (which won’t be for years yet, right TPTB?!) is Meredith actually mending her bridges with Thatcher properly and allowing him to be part of her life.
  • Basically I want awesome Grey family scenes where Meredith and Thatcher be their awkward selves while Lexie babbles on about stuff that her photographic genius mind has picked up.

NGL, I freaking love Thatcher Grey.

He did the best with what he was dealt. I don’t blame him for leaving Ellis. He didn’t want to leave Meredith, Ellis stripped him of the ability to be her father. I hope that they get a good few scenes together when he returns in a few episodes, along with the inevitable lulzy ones with Lexie :D
